DIRECTOR, LUCKY ASIIMWE
Kitojo Empowered Girls School’s Director is Lucky Asiimwe. Lucky and his three siblings grew up desperately poor because his widowed mother lacked an education. Through hard work and a very charitable tourist Lucky managed to obtain a university education and to become a teacher. Driven by his childhood experiences, Lucky was motivated to help the women and girls in his community to break the cycle of poverty that traps so many. Since 2016 he has founded the Kitojo Community Vocational Training School for young women and the Kitojo Empowered Girls School.
Lucky can be reached through this site, via email at: AsiimweLucky9@gmail.com or WhatsApp or telephone at: +256 770 984898

IOANNIS GIANNOPOULOS
Ioannis Giannopoulos has been working in the Hospitality industry for over 20 years managing projects all over the globe. In between these different projects and during his own time, he enjoys his favourite passion, traveling overland. Equipped with his own vehicle, he and his wife Rochelle are undertaking long term overlanding expeditions around the world.
Back in 2008 and while he was traveling in Uganda he met a school boy who volunteered to show him around his village. This young kind boy was Mr. Lucky Asiimwe. After his brief stay in Lucky’s village and a visit to his school he decided to assist Lucky, supporting him through his elementary school education. The next upcoming years, he kept in contact and supported Mr. Lucky's high school education and academic achievements.
While on an overland expedition in South America in 2014 he connected again with Lucky as he was asked by a mutual friend and Canadian sponsor about KITOJO EMPOWERED GIRLS SCHOOL, Lucky’s new project. He was hugely impressed that this confident young boy he met back then had established his own dream of giving back to his community.
Since then Ioannis, has been proudly working hand in hand with Mr. Lucky assisting in all kinds of ways helping with the operation, true commitment to the success of the KITOJO school dream.

BRYAN HOARE
Bryan Hoare was born in Kampala, Uganda. His family had been in East Africa since the 1950’s; his maternal-grandfather oversaw the installation of much of the telecommunications network between Mombasa and Kampala, and later his father was with the WHO in East Africa, and worked at Makerere University when he was born in 1970.
Bryan has seen first-hand, the amazing potential that exists when there is widespread support for grass-roots projects such as Kitojo. He was introduced to Lucky and the team at Kitojo in 2020, and in addition to closely mentoring Lucky, he has helped bring other expertise and supporters into the project, from all over the world.
Bryan’s work in the well-being and healthcare industries, for over 30-years, has inspired him to do more to support this project as a volunteer for Kitojo, while working remotely in the Middle East and Asia.
